To get into Kampsville, we had to cross the Illinois River on a ferry. The river was a little flooded and very muddy!
In the second photo, the two guys talking are my teacher and one of the students. The building in the background is a bar/restaurant that we ate at one night. One of the support posts in the restaurant has markings on it showing the levels the water reached during various big floods in the past.
